angoose Thank you for your information. I have put the article you found from Wikipedia below, so people can easier have a discussion.
From my point of view, to fairly say, I do not think any government (except USA) in the world will let a CIA surported 6 years old child as a political tool to againest their country. If you know the background about Tibet and CIA.
So called 'youngest political prisoner in the world' is called by Dalai Lama and BBC. Maybe before they report the Tibet riot, I will fully believe what they have said. But you know nowadays their turth faces has showed. From the article you found in Wikipedia, can know that they have been doing this for a long time. I am very respect for your kindness care about the child, I personaly believe that Chinese government would not do any harm to him, since he did not do anything wrong from Dalai Lama's order yet, before he went back live in a normal life again.
Selection of the 11th Panchen Lama
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gedhun_Choekyi_Nyima
Following the death of the 10th Panchen Lama in 1989, the search for his reincarnation quickly became mired in bureaucracy and controversy. Chadrel Rinpoche, the head of the search committee, was able to secretly communicate with the Dalai Lama. However, after the Dalai Lama announced Gedhun Choekyi Nyima as the new Panchen Lama, Chinese authorities arrested Chadrel Rinpoche, who was replaced with Sengchen Lobsang Gyaltsen. Sengchen had been a political opponent of both the Dalai Lama and the previous Panchen Lama. The new search committee ignored the Dalai Lama's May 14 announcement and instead chose from a list of finalists; the list excluded Gedhun Choekyi Nyima. In selecting a name, lots were drawn from the Golden Urn, a tradition introduced in 1793.Gyancain Norbu was announced as the search committee's choice on November 11, 1995.
The whereabouts of Gedhun Choekyi Nyima are unknown. The Government of Tibet in Exile claims that he and his family continue to be political prisoners, and has termed him the "youngest political prisoner in the world". According to Chinese government claims, he is attending school and leading a normal life somewhere in China.[citation needed] This cannot be verified by outside sources as no credible evidence has been provided to confirm or deny these claims.[citation needed] The reason this evidence has been withheld, according to statements by Chinese authorities, is that his whereabouts are kept undisclosed to protect him; although there has been no mention at all from what, or whom, he must be protected. This general lack of verifiable information has led many concerned people to fear he has been harmed or otherwise disposed of due to the damage he might someday cause by allowing Tibetans to choose their own leaders without Chinese intervention.
