Stop injuring Chinese!

Stop injuring Chinese!

I am an 25 girl living in Shanghai, East of China.  Sorry my English is poor but I have to tell CNN and some objective broadcast, I'm very angry and sad that so many of people from West have bias against Chinese. Chinese people love peace, why some of you want to hurt us? ?  Do you have your loving country, your belief, your respect and your life?  We have too.  That's why we hate the action which traduced our nation.  Please open your eyes and see the facts, we love Olympics, love Tibetan, love their civilization.  My friends are proud of their trip to Tibet.  Our country build highway to Tibet, often broadcast traveling instruction of Tibet.  We never heard any swearword from news about Tibetian. Whoever attempts to break Tibet?  Dalai does!  Please DO NOT support his ugly action.  All people in China thank you very much for your understanding!

Well do I have news for you. I am one of the few Westerners that has decided to withdrawal from the Western media's bias. We are a small group, but we stand strong amongst 1.3 billion.

To the OP

This is a common misinterpretation by the Chinese that I am going to talk about in my own thread. Whenever western media talks about "Chinese," "German" or "Iraqi" and its commenting on social/political affairs, its talking about the Government, not about the people of the country itself.

CNN (which this site is based against) has referred to "America" and "Americans" negatively many times, hell just watching it in the past week I've seen this, but its always talking about the government or about cultural institutions, not the people.

As far as the West wanting to hurt China, since when is this a fact? Not only has the west traded with China even against its own countries economic positions, but its given aid and exceptions to China many times in the past. Without the many trade deals (and several exceptions to customs regulations) that Chinese products get in the US, China would be without nearly $250 billion in income a year. We aren't even talking Eurozone yet.

As far as China's "support" of Tibet, hell, the American government set up "reservations" and poured millions of dollars into Native American economies and support. Does that make right any of the injustices? Not really, no.

I have to agree with Scryer on this one matter- There may be a lot of precieved China-bashing in 'Western media' (some of it not so much percieved as outrightly blatent!) and whilst I appreciate that 99.9% of Chinese love their country (and why not?), I think that the closeness of People and State in the Chinese mindset personalises the issue.  When CNN reporters, or whoever, criticise China, they are criticising the policies and government of China, not its people.

There is very little hatred for Chinese people (the little that there is coming from the few racists that unfortunately exist), but the Chinese government is looked upon in a highly unfavourable light.  While there can be much said on whether or not the government deserves such treatment, it remains important to not take such criticisms too personally.  Frankly, politicians are all the same and are treated the same by the media- if you doubt this, take a look at how much flak the US government gets from its media, or any other 'Western' government for that matter!

NOT SO FAST!!!

In the past you divide Blacks by seperating them as "House Slave And  Field Slave.
You seperate Indians by "Good Indians And Bad Indians. You seperate Vietnam by North Vietnam And South Vietnam ,and  you  even keep China apart by :Communist China And Free China.Just to mention a few .Over and over again, the bottle changes, but the drink  is the same. You did this with your deciple Hassan of irag. You say we are against Hassan,we are for the  people of irag. And today you say "It  is the Government of China, not the Chinese People". Your trickery with words has been going on for much much  too long.It is a technique which leads to "Divide And Conquer!"Well Chinese people have news for you! "A line has been drawn in the sand...."This Will Not Stand!"
p.s. Field Slave: A slave that works in the field picking cotten.
House Slave: A slave that works in the white masters house and eats better food than the field slave. Also a house slave is used to keep an eye on the field slave. So when the master becomes sick, the house slave ask the master:"Whats the matter master ,We Sick?"

Well, someone's got it in for America, haven't they?  However, I am British and do in fact share many of your concerns.

"Flamingmonkey"  I have to agree with Talkstraight on this matter. Many First Nation aboriginals in the West are suffering from cultural attrition. Language loss is but a mild effect of this starvation. Worst fates include drug abuse, extensive  alcohol consumption, and even suicide. I wish that there was a way to revers the effects, but the damage is entrenched beyond repair. I don't know guys any suggestions?? I really would like to help these people......

I also agree with him, I just wish he'd acknowledge that Britain, although possessing slaves for a time, outlawed the practise earlier than in other countries and didn't abuse blacks after banning slavery, unlike a couple of countries (USA and South Africa spring to mind).  In any case, I believe that it is impossible for someone to fully atone for the actions of someone else (or even be blamed for them) and, although the practise of slavery is abhorrant, apologising will serve no purpose other than to cheapen the act of apologising itself.
