Foreign Rescue Team :
See the link below.

From the press conference on May 18 (I saw it through the CCTV), there are outside rescue teams from 4 countries (Russia, Singapore, Japan, South Korea) and 2 regions (Taiwan, Hong Kong). Where are those Western rescue teams? I guess Chinese government would welcome all foreign rescue teams if they are willing to come to help.

Well, you're wrong;  http://www.intrescue.org.uk/press_news.htm These guys were turned away for not having visas.  Since when has that been an issue in saving lives?  Nice to know the Chinese Govt. have their priorities in order!

Would British government grant me entrance if I don't have visa?....even I am an expert but not speaking English..........

Personally, I don't think that visas should be an issue in times of crisis...

Law and order are all the more crucial than ever in a tragic time like this.  We have hardly enough resources and energy to help the victims, we don't want to divert any attention to cover the illegal entries into our country.

If you really want to help, then do want it takes to help.

If you are in the US, you can also write a check to the Chinese Consulate in New York.

What a pity

What a pity... we Chinese people only become united when confronted by such a disaster. When there is no disaster we fight among ourselves. May we never forget the lesson we learned on 512 and face all the challenges that lie ahead of us as ONE family! When 1.3 billion people stand as one nothing can stand in our way!

as a side note, do not donate through american redcross, last time I checked, the CEO of America Red Cross's annul income is more than half mil.  I donated through HK red cross and China red cross.

What pity, didn't you see what happened when Tibet independents tried to stop the Olympic Relay?
Not only the whole China, also the Chinese people all over the world united trying to protect their country’s integrity.

A disaster will unit a nation, that is common.
Look at what happened during Katrina in the US, nothing.
Bush showed up 7 days after the disaster hit, people in the north didn’t care at all.

It's a good idea to donate to China Red Cross because the money you donate won't go into administrative fees since it's managed by the government so more of the money you donate gets used for disaster relief.
