Propagandaschlacht-China beginnt in Tibet mit Umerziehung (China's propaganda strategy in Tibet) with a photo of policemen and Tibetan monks. However,this photo is suspected to be taken a long time ago, before 2000.


Analyse:

1) The one at front and the one on left were wearing the uniform of Police. The epaulets showed that both of them were superintendent; and according to the collar badge, the one at right-hand side was an armed police. The three sets of uniforms were all the old version, which was designed in 1993 and had been abandoned in1999.

2) The background of the photo seemed to be a Tibetan Buddism temple named Yonghe Palace in Beijing. Not in Tibet.

3) There are some obvious lapses in cropping. With a larger pic, look at the lips of the monk at left, the strange white edge of the middle monk's neck, the fuzzy edge between the head of the left monk and the police....

the westen media are so ridiculous

while bad cropping can be due to negligence (though it shouldn't happen at all, especially when the guy doing it is a professional who is getting paid), the deliberate collaging of different photos is completely contradictory to the standards of journalism!! i am a photographer for my university paper and we are definitely not allowed to do it, unless the image is explicitly stated to be a "photo illustration." as someone who has used photoshop for a decade, i can easily tell that this image was put together from various photos. this is truly despicable.

I wonder how long it took for the film designers in Hollywood to prop the picture? It's impressive, but the box cover to the movie "Clover Leaf" is 1000X better.
