What ever happend to the lawsuit against CNN??

This was written on April 25th 2008. Apparently CNN feels that the Chinese can not win this lawsuit battle of 1.3 billion dollars. Has anyone else heard anything more about this issue?? It kind of faded, and I was just wondering if it's in the courts still.

I think it was really a symbolic gesture, meant to publicize CNN's insults to Chinese everywhere.  I don't think the filers expected to actually win the lawsuit.

Besides, in the US, the media can legally lie (see my thread elsewhere, "The (US) Media Can Legally Lie", from the Project Censored website).

Also, it's like the old saying:  "Killing one person is murder.  Killing 10,000 is foreign policy";

Regarding the media, it's:  "Slandering one person is libel.  Slandering a nation is the free press serving foreign policy."
