China overtakes US as world's biggest CO2 emitter
Unfortunately this is something that can not be denied. However, "Dr Olivier said it was hard to find up to date and reliable estimates for such emissions, particularly from countries in the developing world.....[and].... China's emissions had not been expected to overtake those from the US, formerly the world's biggest polluter, for several years, although some reports predicted it could happen as early as next year." Industry really plays a significant role in the emissions of CO2, as does a strong economy. These findings are from 2007.
