Thank you Kim Jung-Il for allowing a stressless walk for the torch.
How did you managed to make so much people come ? did you tell them they would be given food or do you threaten your own people to be executed....

-I recognized the right of China to walk the torch in the whole world without problemes unlike those that happen

-I am happy to see Chinese students peacefully demonstrate their love to their Homeland in Paris

-I can even understand why the torch would go to Tibet

But allowing the torch to go North Korea.... I think it's too much. Beijing just KILLED the spirit of the olympics with this.

What kind of message do we give to one of the worst governement on Earth ??? Yeahh now problem, we like you anyway...continue what you are doing you have the approbation of Big brother China.

I know UNICEF declined the *invitation* to come, thanks god they couldn't giver their support to a country which has Continuously international laws, didn't distribute the food to the relevant population, killed its own people and forbid anyone to leave the country...

frklx, I totally understand your frustration.  In fact, I pity the citizens in North Korea too, you know, them being the subject of one person...

But please don't forget.  Olympics is about sports.  Sports precedes everything in this case, not human rights, not other social issues. Don't forget how the past Olympics have brought South and North Koreas together.  Athletes from both sided had marched in together in the opening celemonies. I believe positive things can come out from this. American press has demonized the country more than they do to any other country in this world. By the way, how did you know that many people were killed in the nation? Have you been there? Not long ago, I saw someone toured North Korea say that life in North Korea is quite simple and it may be a good thing for them.  Everyone in the nation has a house to live because it's guaranteed by the government.  Of course, I haven't been to the nation, either, so I can't argue anything, either. This is just my thought.

Hi, frklx, I agree on what you say.  One of the moderators here just mentioned: Governments have flaws, but people are innocent.

Maybe by hosting the Olympics relay, North Korea showed us that it is interested in opening up the nation.  In fact, I've heard that it's trying to learn from China and gradually open up its economy.  Some Special Economic Regions, have been set up, just like what Chinese did in the early 1980s.  These are all good signs.

Best Wishes for North Korean people.

This is what we call a peaceful country, unlike the south Korean, & the silly south Korean even change the name of their own capital.
